When I called your office i was told you do not do pelvic exams.Do you reccomend any Drs.? I am assuming you want that done before you treat someone.I am looking for a female although the last one I went to told me they find that antidepressants are great for menopause.I never returned!

Mike,

It's very possible that you could benefit from BHRT of some kind. One of the first things men notice when their hormones are not balanced is a slower recovery after workouts or athletic activities. Also, from the symptoms you're describing above, it could also be a thyroid problem. My recommendation would be to come in for an evaluation and lab work first to at least see what the exact cause is, then we can discuss the treatment options with you.

I'm a 37 year-old male. I don't seem to be suffering from loss of sex-drive, or desire, but I am having a hard time getting my bad cholesterol under control, losing weight, and am quite tired most of the time. As little as about 6 months ago, I quit running, and working out (bad thing to do) and it has become very difficult to get back into the "frame of mind" that I had before I had to quit working out. I'm wondering if any of the symptoms I have would benefit from BHRT.

I just started reading your site – thanks for writing. I wanted to inform you that it’s not displaying correctly on the BlackBerry Browser (I have a Tour). Anyway, I am now subscribed to the RSS feed on my PC, so thanks again!

Susan,

We accept all insurances except HMO's or PHO's (such as Genesys PHO). We are out-of-network with all insurances, so treatment is subject to applicable copays. If you call our office on Monday, we can verify your benefits before you make an appointment so you know for sure what your insurance covers. Thank you for your interest in our treatment!

Kristyn, after pregnancy the body oftentimes "resets" the hormonal balance. Sometimes this is for the better (in women that are having heavy bleeding and so forth) or, as in your case, it could be for the worse. I am sure that you would probably benefit by having your hormone levels checked properly.

I am not sure why the phone number is not showing up on the main page. For that, I apologize. I will clarify:
The office address is:
10683 S. Saginaw St. Ste B
Grand Blanc, MI 48439
phone: 810-694-3576.
I also go to the New Baltimore office once monthly. To make an appointment for the New Baltimore office, please call the Grand Blanc office.

I would also like to take a moment to clarify the Newsweek article that was released today. Although it upsets me that people are writing such unfounded things about BHRT (bio-identical hormones), I also realize that many of these statements are oftentimes profit driven. Pharmaceutical companies have millions to billions of dollars to spend on advertising and lobbying congress. It is up to us, as the public, to bond together and fight these companies. If it is up to them, we will lose the right to choose BHRT. BHRT is the identical molecule that is found in your body. It is not a horse estrogen molecule or a "progestin" (also chemically different than what is found in your body). For these reasons, they are much safer. I am very upset about the Newsweek article as it only shows how poorly educated some people are on the subject of BHRT. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I love to educate on this subject. Dr. S
